10 Incredible Cubby Houses

0

When I was a kid my parents built us a ‘dolls house’ which soon doubled for bike storage and then later for just about everything else.

We made our own cubby houses a few times but never like these works of art. I guess I lean toward basic structures so that children can add their own flavour and use imagination but these are still amazing!

Mound Cubby

This Hobbit Hole cubby can be made following these instructions at eHow

Make it Now

I love this idea because its not permanent and its easy. Involve your little one in the construction. A candle near the material totally freaks me out … I hope its an LED lookalike. Don’t put electricity or fire in your cloth cubby … please 🙂 Found at http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/inspiration-backyard-escapes-144588

Traditional (with the works)

This one is more of a standard format but I love all the thought that has gone into the activities possible … both physical and imaginative. Found at http://www.playhousesandclimbingframes.co.uk/made-to-measure/

In The Garden

This one is simple but made cool by being in the vegetation and also with the material to soften the look. Found at http://pithandvigor.com/shop-for-garden-products/treehouses/my-treehouse-inspiration/

Indoor Cubby

Don’t let living in an apartment or not having a yard put you off. Found at http://www.houseofturquoise.com/2013/09/natasha-smith-photography.html

Pallet Cubby

Made almost entirely from pallets this is recycling and looks great. Found at http://thepalletproject.blogspot.ca/2010/06/tree-hut.html

Better Than My House!

This one is over the top incredible with a zip-line … what!? Found at http://adoreyourplace.com/2013/04/09/treehouse-treasure-2/

Twisted Sticks

WOW. I would not have the patience (or skill) for this one but it looks awesome haha. Found at http://www.lushome.com/25-tree-house-designs-kids-backyard-ideas-keep-children-active-happy/142498

Not Just For The Kids

Who says the outdoor cubby has to be only for the kids … I love that this is on wheels and that the front keeps it waterproof. Found at http://www.relaxshacks.blogspot.nl/2014/07/a-tiny-housestudy-pod-for-nyu.html

Doggy Heaven

Don’t forget the pooch … they need a house with a viewing platform too lol …. Found at http://www.boredpanda.com/pet-furniture-ideas/

Being a mum to 3 kids (one of them full time at home with me) and trying to juggle everything became pretty crazy.
