0

Pink Ribbon Day supports women affected by Breast and Gynaecological Cancers.

It is an opportunity for us to support and raise funds for the thousands of women and their families dealing with women’s cancers.

Pink Ribbon Day 2

Pink Ribbon Day 2016 will be celebrated on the following days:

NSW – Friday 21 October 2016
NT – Saturday 15 October (Pink Race Day)
ACT – Monday 24 October 2016
VIC – Friday 21 October 2016
SA – Friday 21 October 2016
WA – Friday 21 October 2016

Here are 6 ways to support Pink Ribbon Day:

Host A Gathering

Have some friends around to your place for morning or afternoon tea and ask them to donate what they would have spent on a similar outing had you gone out. This is a great way to raise money and a perfect excuse to catch up with those friends you haven’t seen for ages.

Merchandise

Buy some Pink Ribbon Day merchandise or volunteer your time to sell some. Merchandise is readily available at Big W, Century 21 Offices, New Balance stores and HCF branches. For more locations check out www.pinkribbon.com.au.

Bake Biscuits

Bake some biscuits and sell them at your school, local sports club or church. A good friend of mine made these and I think they look amazing. (For a similar cookie cutter, check out www.cakesaroundtown.com.au).

Practical Support

Offer practical support to a family who is directly affected by cancer at the moment – this may be offering to make them a meal, wash their car or mow their lawn.

Helium Balloons

Sell pink helium balloons at your school gate one afternoon and charge $2/balloon with all funds raised being donated to the Cancer Council Australia. (Remember to get the Principal’s ok for this one beforehand).

Donate

You can donate directly to Pink Ribbon through the Cancer Council Australia. Every donation helps fund cancer research, early detection and patient support programs.

Wouldn’t it be amazing to see cancer kicked in the near future? At the end of the day, the more money raised to fund ground-breaking research into new and better ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer – the better!
