Here are 10 fabulous uses for unrefined Coconut Oil:

  1. Cooking & Baking
Coconut oil is a great substitute for butter in cooking and baking, especially in biscuits & muffins.
  2. Nourishing & Moisturising Skin
Coconut Oil provides deep and real moisture. It beautifully softens and repairs the skin. You can use it anywhere on the body for a completely natural body lotion. Its natural antioxidant properties make it great for dry skin, wrinkles and skin irritation.
  3. Hair Conditioner
It is also an incredibly intensive natural conditioner.  It provides great shine and natural moisture to your hair. Rub into dry hair, put a shower cap on and leave for several hours before washing out with shampoo. Also, a tiny dab rubbed into hair makes a great anti-frizz treatment!
  4. Prevents Dandruff
Coconut Oil can be rubbed into the scalp to prevent dandruff forming.
  5. Natural Deodorant
The natural antibacterial properties in Coconut Oil make it great for fighting body odours.
  6. Removes cradle cap
A small amount rubbed on to baby’s head will soften and remove cradle cap.
  7. Soothes Eczema
Adding a few spoonfuls to a warm bath will aid eczema.
  8. Cuticle Care
Use Coconut Oil as cuticle oil. Wash your hands thoroughly and then apply a pea size amount to each hand and gently rub into the cuticles until fully absorbed.
  9. Lip Balm
Coconut Oil rubbed on lips provides a soothing and natural lip balm. It’s completely edible, so there’s no need to worry about ingesting a little.
  10. Make Up Remover
Just rub a small amount on your face and wipe off with a soft cloth. Coconut Oil is particularly good at removing eye-makeup and mascara.
If it is to be used as an edible oil, unrefined coconut oil should be heated well,
in order to eliminate any possible contamination. Raw consumption should be avoided.
It is best suited for external applications, such as for massaging the skin and for the hair.
