If you love a craft project which isn’t too difficult and looks amazing then check this out!
When I first saw this idea I straight away thought I have to give that a go!!
What You Will Need
- Balloons or water bombs (the better quality the better the outcome)
- Clear drying craft glue
- Oil Spray
- 100% Cotton String
How To Make
Get a bowl and mix 2 parts glue and 1 part water together.
Blow up the water balloon or balloon to be the size and shape you would like the egg to be.
Measure out 4-5 metres of string and cut.
Tie the string to the end of the balloon so once it is wrapped with the remaining string you can use it to hang on a clothes line to dry.
Spray the balloon with oil spray. This helps the glue not to stick to the balloon as much when it dries which is important.
Place the 4-5 metres of string into the glue/water mix and saturate.
Wrap the string around the balloon for random even coverage.
Once you have finished wrapping the glue covered string over the balloon hang it up for at least 24 hours to dry.
I want to add here that a few things could happen. e.g when the glue dries it could pop the balloon or the balloon could lose air and pull the string into the middle. If this happens you can pop the balloon and pull it out via the top. Although it will seem all hope is lost and this craft did not work out for you this is not the case 🙂 All you need to do is place a new balloon into the top of the egg and blow it up and it will magically become the nice round shaped egg once again. You do need to do this before it has completely dried.
As a cute idea you can pop a chick into the balloon!
