So I heard that Radiant’s latest laundry powders were meant to be super awesome and work really well at getting hard to wash stains out of clothes and keep your colours looking newer for longer.
I decided to take the Radiant Return challenge and asked my lovely School Mum likers on the facebook page what they thought were some of the toughest stains to get out of our kids’ school uniforms. (You can view post here)

The most popular and common stains suggested included paint, texta, whiteboard marker and tomato based foods (e.g. pasta sauce). So I grabbed my daughter’s school uniform and covered it with the above mentioned products (pictured above) AND left them to soak in for 24 hours before attempting to wash with Radiant and return the dress to its normal state.
As you can see in the pics above, the stains were nice and dry before attempting to wash. The first thing I did was let them soak for one hour in some laundry liquid before attempting to wash in the machine as I knew they were going to be tough to get out.
I then popped the uniform along with my other washing into the front loader to see what would happen!!
I am happy to report that the paint and the normal texta came out of the uniform first time with no fuss at all. However, as you can see from the picture above, there was still a slight stain from the pasta sauce AND the white board marker stains appeared to only have shifted a little.
So, I stepped things up a notch and made a paste with the laundry powder and put it directly on the stains for a few hours before leaving the dress to soak overnight in some warm water and laundry liquid.
As soon as I got up in the morning I gave the uniform (mostly just where the white board markers were as they seemed to be the biggest problem) a bit of a scrub and put it back in the machine with another load of washing. I am SUPER happy to report that after the second wash and soaking we managed to remove 99% of the white board marker stains with only some faint evidence that they were ever there. I know after one more wash they will have disappeared altogether.
So with a bit of persistence, soaking, good product and elbow grease, Radiant can indeed return this school uniform to new with some of the toughest stains we School Mums and Dads have to face and will keep your colours looking newer for longer 🙂 To find out more you can visit www.radiantreturn.com.au
