I am a huge fan of Disney and their movies.
My fondest childhood memories are related to Disney movies like Peter Pan and Beauty and the Beast, so I’m excited that my daughter gets to grow up with their newest classics. I must admit, I worried that when Frozen was released in 2013, it wouldn’t live up to the hype, but the music in this movie is FANTASTIC!
I catch myself singing the songs and often listen to the soundtrack even when my daughter isn’t around. The music absolutely lives up to the hype. Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel as the voices of Anna and Elsa are spectacular.
I also love the overall message that “True Love” doesn’t have to be a romantic love. The bond that Elsa and Anna share is heart-warming and inspiring. That being said, I do feel that the plot itself left something to be desired. Maybe it is because I hold Disney to such high standards or because I have different personal preferences, but I felt that the story was somehow incomplete.
I believe that Brave had a much better storyline while delivering a similar message. The run time is a bit longer than some of Disney’s other movies at 108 minutes. Putting my personal preferences aside, my daughter loves this movie, and I can’t get enough of the music. It will certainly make its way into our collection of Disney classics to be watched over and over again.
