Today I went with my girls to Dreamworld to see the premiere of Kung Fu Panda 3. If your kids love the Kung Fu Panda movies then this won’t disappoint.
The story of the movie is about when Po’s long-lost panda father suddenly reappears. The reunited duo then travel to a secret panda paradise to meet scores of hilarious new panda characters. But when the supernatural villain Kai begins to sweep across China defeating all the kung fu masters, Po must do the impossible—learn to train a village full of his fun-loving, clumsy brethren to become the ultimate band of Kung Fu Pandas!
My daughter’s are 8 and 5 and they enjoyed the movie and particularly the cute chubby baby pandas. Po is as hilarious as ever and had me laughing out loud on a number of occasions. As an adult I was very entertained by the movie and wasn’t watching the clock hoping it would be over soon lol.
Just to note for parents wondering about age suitability it is rated PG and it does have some scaryish scenes in it for smaller children. Both my 8 year old and my 5 year old said they felt scared in some of the scenes but that is semi-normal for a lot of movies as they tend to have that as a part of the story. I would say this is similar to the past Kung Fu Panda movies so if your child was able to deal with those scenes then this movie is similar.
I don’t think it would be suitable for children under 5 unless they were use to seeing movies with a good guy / bad guy fighting it out kind of theme. Kai the supernatural villain in the movie is a bit scary some of the time during the movie.
Kung Fu Panda 3 is in cinemas now.
